Tea for Two - July 2009

These photos were taken when I took Haylee to the English Rose Tea Room for her 5th birthday. We put on our prettiest floral dresses for the occasion and had a very girly afternoon together, despite the pouring rain! We enjoyed a full afternoon tea with scones, curds and jams and Devonshire Cream, soup, finger sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries, fruit and custard parfait, quiche, and dessert tarts. Her favorite part was the scones with the cream and the fruit parfait!

I used Provo Craft coordinating papers from a Super Slab, and I cut the title letters with the Fiskars Shape Cutter and a lettering template. I created the shadow mats for the letters using the Magic Matter. I embellished with Prima flowers, some plastic floral brads from Target to hold the vellum journaling in place, a wooden flower accent from Dollar Tree, and some Tea Party stickers from Jolee's. I cut some jagged edged border pieces to fram the collage photos.

Wrestling Fun - June 2009

I made this layout today using the Embrace Today theme from the Storytellers Club October 2009 Ultimate Kit. I added some ribbons from my own personal collection and a crystal bradded flower stack. Everything else is from the kit. These pictures are so unique because they were taken by my 9-year old son. I got the joy of discovering them on my digital camera a while later! I love that they are so candid and show my kids being kids, as they normally are. Whenever they see me with a camera in hand, they always want to "ham it up" and offer the perfect pose. I'm tickled pink to have some "real life" photos of them playing and being silly. Hayden was so excited that I actually scrapbooked the photos that *HE* took!

Pretty as a Princess - June 2009

I did this layout today, too. These pictures were taken the same day as the photos in Just Spiffy posted just before this. I used the Because You Love Me theme from the February Storytellers Ultimate Kit to make this, adding only a Heidi Grace pre-bradded flower that did not come with the kit. I cut the title lettering with my Craft Robo and outlined the letters with a red marker. I love my little princess! She was wearing her new dress for church.

Just Spiffy!

My youngest son, Holden, has the curliest hair on the planet. One Sunday, we decided to try slicking it down with water for church. We thought he looked just spiffy, that is, until it started to dry and curl right back up again, as shown by the photo with the arrow, lol! I made this layout today using the Grandpa theme background paper, die cuts, and fabric flowers from the January 2009 Ultimate kit from Storytellers and added some brown paper for matting and lettering using my Craft Robo. I also added a blue rhinestone to the center of the flower. I'm getting to love rhinestone accents! Holden was 17 months old in these photos from June 2009.

I made this one yesterday. I got the popcorn image from Google Images, printed it, and used pop dots to raise it up. Then I split it between the two pages of the layout. I added sticky stitches along the lines in the background paper, and I cut the title words using my Craft Robo and placed the letters along the stitches. I chalked the tops of the letters with a darker yellow to simulate melting butter. I punched photo corners using a Fiskars corner punch. I added ultrafine glitter to the swirls of the flourishes in the background paper and to the edges of the photo bubble mats, and I heat embossed them to keep the glitter from brushing off.

My family has an obsession with popcorn, so when one person has some, everybody else has to join in, too! It's always a family affair, lol. I punched images of Steve and Holden with popcorn in their mouths and their hands in the popcorn bowl for the circle photos.

*** LOVE ***

I just got the February kit that I ordered from Storytellers. I used the Love theme to showcase these photos of my youngest son, Holden, and his little girlfriend, Kayleigh. They were on a field trip to Brookdale Farm in April 2009. I mostly used items from the kit, but I added some pink gems, a pink gemmed flower and a small pink ribbon bow on the tag, and I chalked the edge of the scalloped border I cut from the pink cardstock for dimension. I really liked working with the little ribbon loops that were in the kit. They were really unique.

Virginia Aquarium - March 2009

I just made this layout, also using my free trial kit from Storytellers Club, of our visit to the Virginia Aquarium in March 2009, where we met up with my sister-in-law, Karen. I sprayed Craft Bond on some chipboard accents in the kit and bonded some coordinating cardstock to it so it would match my layout. I also used my Craft Robo to cut the teeny tiny title lettering to coordinate.

Ice Cream Happiness - January 2009

I made this layout today using the "Happy" theme in my Storytellers free trial kit (the theme was originally included in the December 2007 pack). I only used materials included in the pack.
I love the pictures of Holden enjoying his very own ice cream cone in January 2009, not long after his first birthday. What a sweetie pie! I loved the quotation and thought it was so fitting.

Football 2009

I made this layout today using 3-d stickers from K & Co. Grand Adhesions, and I made the title using my Craft Robo...hooray! I've owned the Craft Robo for about 2 years but never knew how to make my own cutting files until now, thanks to a tutorial someone posted on the web! The machine doesn't come with instructions, so I was at a loss as to how to use it. I'm really excited beacuse now I can make custom titles to go with all my layouts. Gotta love that!

I love this shot of my son, Hayden, catching the football in mid-air, courtesy of an onlooker who snapped it with their cell phone. Although the picture is very grainy, it's so awesome that I just had to feature it on the page!

This was my first real attempt at preserving a memento rather than actual photos. I loved this card and flowers my husband gave me, so I featured the actual card and a photo of the flowers with the card here.

Hayden lost his first tooth on Halloween night of 2005. I later went to a make-and-take event at my local craft store, and this awesome paper was available for free. Then I printed a clipart tooth in various sizes on some vellum and adhered it all over the page.

I love using ribbons and fibers on my pages. This was also one of the first times I used a rub-on. I totally fell in love with rub-ons after this and horded quite an assortment thereafter.

My kids love playing homeschool sports and play one sport or another year-round. This was soccer season. Haylee is shown getting her award from Soccer Tots for preschoolers. The embossed words and coordinated papers are from K & Company.

My nephew died at the age of 23 under tragic circumstances related to complications from his diabetes. Most of my family came together from across the country for his funeral. Although we reunited for a sad occasion, it was wonderful to be with family that hadn't seen each other in such a long time. There are 3 generations in some of these photos. It was great that we could count on each other for support, and I wanted to honor my nephew, Nathan, by marking that moment. He is showcased in a metal framed photo in the center.

This is Holden's first birthday party! He was all about food, so I quoted his "mmm...good" as he surveyed the cake. I love the white floral rub-ons, too.

I have started this blog to showcase my scrapbook pages as a way to share with grandparents and friends and fellow scrapbookers. Comments are welcome. I have many completed scrapbooks, and I will add the pages here as I get time to scan them, probably in no particular order! LOL. Enjoy!

These were taken in December 2007, just a couple of weeks before I gave birth to Holden! Haylee was doing her nursery schoolwork with me.

**********

I love these photos! Haylee was such a silly girl. She was sitting on my belly when I took a lot of these. She wore herself out with her silliness and then crashed on the couch afterwards!

**********

This is a much simpler layout than I normally do. I used a page kit I had because I was at a crop and didn't have time to pack the stuff I would normally use! I usually do a lot more embellishing and use a mix of patterned paper. The pictures were so much fun because I had a backdrop all set up and was trying to get pictures of both of them posing together, but Haylee kept charging the camera and laughing!

This was made using the free trial Ultimate Kit from http://www.storytellersclub.com/. I used part of the "Just Add Water" theme and part of the "Family" theme.
