American Indian Pow-Wow - April 2008

We had such a good time as this annual pow-wow two years ago TODAY! So funny that I picked today, of all days, to finally scrapbook these photos. A little creepy even (according to Hayden)...maybe a little touch of Twilight Zone!?! I distinctly remember how savagely hot it was that day...as evidenced by little Haylee's bright pink cheeks! The American Indian who posed with them was just an enormous guy! They look so small beside him.
I used the "Enjoying Life" theme from the February 2009 Storytellers Club ultimate kit and a red Slick Writer Marker by American Crafts. I cut the title letters with my Craft Robo using the CK Racer font.

First Smile - February 2008

This layout contains the first smiling photo I ever took of Holden. He was about 6 weeks old here. It's so funny to me that even now, at 2 yrs. 4 mos., he still looks *exactly* like the center photo!

All of the patterned papers, cardstock, stickers, alphas, and die cuts, and tag came from a Heidi Grace Pocket Scraps kit called "Inspire Me." I only added a vellum quote from the Colorbok "baby boy" quote stack, and a misc. blue brad. I based the layout on a sketch by Pages by Design.

You Are My Sunshine - February 2008

Hayden, my firstborn, my treasure...I love you! Hayden was 8 in this picture.

I used the "You Are My Sunshine" theme from the August 2009 Storytellers Club ultimate kit for this layout. I put pop dots on some small flower die cuts and used them as flower centers to accent the background paper. I added layered flowers from Prima with a brad center, and I hand-pieced a bumblebee with vellum wings and secured it with a pop dot. I wrote in the date with a black Slick Writer marker from American Crafts. I made the black photo mat from construction paper.

Sweet Dreams - February 2008

I love this photo of Holden sleeping...he was only a month old here.

I used the "My Favorite Things" theme from the March 2008 Storytellers Club ultimate kit for this layout. The metal tab and eyelets from 7 Gypsies were also included in the kit, along with the blue textured Bazzill cardstock. I trimmed one blue strip with the deckle blade for my Cutterpede, and the other blue strip with my Fiskars "Treading Water" border punch. I used a template from Pages By Design for the title mat, and I cut the title with my Craft Robo. I used a Precision Pen by American Crafts for the journaling. I based the layout on a sketch that I think I printed from the Creating Keepsakes website a long time ago. I used a printable paper piecing pattern from the Scrapbooks, Etc. website for the tree trunk, and I hand cut the tree trunk from recycled cardboard that was in a home mailer. I used miscellaneous scrap paper for the tree and the title mat.

I made this layout for the Earth Day 2010 contest at the Storytellers Club website.

One of a Kind - February 2008

Holden was just over a month old here. He was sporting a jungle-themed outfit that his Uncle Terry sent to him.

I used the Deco Garden theme from the April 2008 Storytellers Club Ultimate kit for this layout. The title words and the word "adorable" on the photo frame were both rub-ons that were included in the kit. I did the journaling with a brown Slick Writer marker.

Milk Patrol - January 2008

I always loved this shirt with its catchy slogan: "Milk Patrol: Seek & Enjoy!" Holden always was a milk lover, so it suited him just fine!

I used the "Starburst" theme from the November 2008 Storytellers Club ultimate kit. I added some green cardstock I had, and I cut some shapes from one of the patterned papers to decorate the green strip. I also modeled the design after a PageMaps sketch by Becky Higgins. I use a Slick Writer marker for the title, date, and journaling, and a Metallic marker for the slogan across the bottom of the blue mat.

Easter Memories - January 2010

The kids went to the Homeowners' Association's annual Easter egg hunt on the weekend before Easter this year, and then we had our own hunt in the front yard when we got home from church on Easter Sunday. At the association's hunt, Hayden won the big prize basket. That was a big deal for him because this was his last hunt with them since he is 10 now. He was thrilled, even though he gave most of the stuff in the basket to his brother and sister. He ate the chocolate bunny, though, in short order! LOL.
I used the "Easter Memories" theme from the April 2010 Storytellers Ultimate kit, which included the pretty felt flowers I used on the layout. I added some yellow cardstock for the journaling mat that I punched down one side with a Fiskars border punch, and I used some flower shaped brads for the flower centers.

Chocolate Attack - January 2010

These photos were taken on January 30, 2010. Holden was 25 months old here. He had gotten into some chocolate, and I chased him down with the camera, teasing him about being a big mess...thus the sheepish grin. :) He sure does love chocolate!

I used the "Blue Boutique" theme from the February 2008 Storytellers Club Ultimate Kit. I added a scrap of polka-dotted patterned paper from the Colorbok Earthy Retrol Scrap Pack and some brads that I colored brown with a Slick Writer marker. I lifted this layout from another ST scrapper for a lift contest.

Reading Together - January 2008

Steve took this photo of Hayden and Haylee shortly after Holden was born. He spotted them cuddled up in a chair together reading a book and eating their beloved popcorn. I just love seeing my kids enjoy being together because they choose to do so. It does a mom's heart good!

The patterned paper is from the "Designer" paper pack by Autumn Leaves. The shaped ribbon is by Li'l Davis Designs. The pink decorative staples are Fastenator staples. The pastel chipboard animals are from Martha Stewart. The vellum quote is from Colorbok. I used a Page Map sketch by Becky Higgins.

Little Miss - January 2008

Haylee was all dressed up for church but wanted to hold Holden before we left. I always loved that dress on her...it has such a little schoolgirl look. She was 3.5 in these photos. I just love her long curls!

I used the "Say Cheese" them from the March 2008 Storytellers Club Ultimate kit for this layout. I added some embossed butterfly, star, and flower stickers as embellishments, and some clear letter stickers for the title.

Arthur Live! - November 2007

During opening week of the Sandler Center, I took Haylee out for a special treat, just the two of us. We saw the Arthur Live stage show of "Arthur Tricks the Tooth Fairy." Our seats were really close to the stage, too. She have a wonderful time and never forgot that if you don't take care of your teeth, the bad tooth fairy will come and make the rot and fall out! She's had great dental hygiene ever since! LOL.

The patterned paper is from the "Designer" paper pack by Autumn Leaves. I cut the swoopy flowers from one of the coordinating papers to use as an embellishment. The title letters are Thickers chipboard letters by American Crafts.

This picture of Haylee was taken on January 28, 2008. I just love the giddy, happy smile on her face! I imagine someone was probably tickling her when they took this photo!

I used the "All Smiles" theme from the November 2008 Storytellers Club ultimate kit. I added only the layered Prima flowers and red brad center, which I colored with a red Slick Writer marker.

Again? - January 2008

Holden was exactly one month old in these photos and was taking his nightly bath. He sure fussed when he got cold and wet, but he decided he didn't mind once he got snuggled up in a nice warm towel!

I used the "Spring Fever" theme from the April 2009 Storytellers Club ultimate kit. I matted the two main photos with the included textured Bazzill cardstock. I added Thickers for the title letters. I didn't have a black question mark left, so I used a brown one and colored it with a black slick writer marker. I also added a layered flower made from a combination of a yellow polka-dotted Petaloo Dahlia Box Blends flower and two Prima flowers with a yellow flower brad center.

Lazy Days

Holden was exactly one month old in these pictures. He'd already had his bath and was feeling all relaxed and comfy!

I used the "Lazy Days" theme from the January 2008 Storytellers Club ultimate kit. I accidentally tore the title die cut when I was punching it out, and so I covered the boo-boo with a strip of ribbon that was also in the kit! It ended up working out okay!

Cherish - January 2008

Holden was about 3 weeks old here. He was all dressed up for church in the outfit Candace had bought for him as a baby shower gift. He was sitting in his beloved FP Aquarium bouncy seat. I'll never forget that seat...it played the most soothing music that put him to sleep every night!

I used the "Cherished Moments" theme from the January 2008 Storytellers Club kit for this layout. I matted the photos with the print on the flip side of the paper. I added layered flowers from Petaloo Dahlia Box Blends with yellow flower shaped brads in the centers. I also added the vellum quote from Colorbok "Baby Boy" Vellum Quote Pack to one of the die cuts.
