Swing Low - July 2008

This was Hayden's first time going to the annual Bay Electric Picnic. I was pushing Holden and Haylee on the swings, and he totally fell in love with the relaxing movement and surroundings of the park. He slowly leaned to one side and began to close his eyes as he drifted off to sleep for a nice little nap!

I used the "Amazing Moments" theme from the April 2008 Storytellers Club Ultimate kit for this layout. I added some miscellaneous blue cardstock for photo mats, and I added some shaped polka-dot ribbon from Lil Davis Designs. I wrote the date and journaling with an American Crafts Slick Writer marker. I used the same brown marker to color the plain Thickers chipboard title letters by American Crafts.

Time for Cows - July 2008

Every year, I take the kids to Chick-Fil-A for their Cow Appreciation Day. We dress up as cows and get free lunch just for the fun of it. This was Holden's first time going. He made an adorable little cow, tail and all! He ran into his little girlfriend there and visited until he fell asleep.

The patterned paper and all the die cuts came from the Colorbok "Earthy Retro" Scrap Pack. I also used a Zig marker.

You - July 2008

These are some cute "on the move" photos of Holden. I miss this stage of just learning to crawl. What a fun age!
I made this layout using the "All About You" theme from the May 2008 Storytellers Club Ultimate Kit, an American Crafts Slick Writer Marker, and some self-adhesive rhinestones from Bead Party.

Crazy Eyes - July 2008

This was a fabulous picture of Hayden with a rare genuine smile instead of the fake one he usually puts on for photos, so I had to make sure this went into my album somewhere. The trouble was that Haylee decided to put on her crazy eyes in this photo, thus the inspiration for the title! LOL.

I used some miscellaneous cardstock and patterned paper that my friend gave me. I also used some chipboard arrows and a glittered flourish from the white variety bag of Pebbles Chips. I printed the computer journaling on cardstock strips, and I used chipboard title letters from the Dollar Spot at Target.

My Little Firemen - June 2008

Hayden and Holden have always loved playing together, and here they are playing dress-up together with firemen's hats. Laughter always follows those two in their daily adventures!
I used some misc. red cardstock, red/white checkered patterned paper from Scrapbook Wizard, vellum for computer journaling, and a sheet of "fireman" themed stickers from Karen Foster Design.

Tiny T-Ball Awards - June 2008

I coach homeschool Tiny T-Ball, and Haylee is shown here with me after receiving her award at the end of that season. She was almost 4 years old here and was so proud of her little medal! She used to carry it all over the house with her.

I used the "Lilac Medley" theme from the January 2009 Storytellers Club Ultimate Kit with an American Crafts Slick Writer marker to complete this layout.

Tea Party - June 2008

All the ladies at my baby shower for Holden really got along well together, so one of my friends decided to reunite the ladies at a tea party the following spring. Here we were, all dressed up to go to the tea party, where we were encouraged to wear our best hats and gloves! We had a lovely afternoon tea, and it was so nice to see my dear friends again, all in one place.
I used Bazzill textured cardstock, vellum paper for computer journaling, American Crafts ribbon, and layered Prima flowers for this layout.

School Days - June 2008

These photos were taken in the final days of our school year when Hayden was wrapping up 3rd grade. I often found myself nursing Holden at the table while I was teaching. He liked to lay or sit on the pillow in my lap to be near me. He would sometimes take a nap like that! Those were fun days of learning to juggle teaching responsibilities with the responsibilities of caring for an infant once again. It was a joy! Everything seemed to fall into place and went pretty smoothly overall.
I used the "School Days" theme from the September 2008 Storytellers Club Ultimate Kit for this layout. I wrote the title and date on the lines of the "chalkboard" background paper using a white American Crafts Galaxy marker.

Jumperoo - May 2008

I got this Jumperoo for Holden from freecycle, and it was absolutely the filthiest child's toy I've ever seen! I had to bleach it from here to eternity, fabric and all, but it was finally useable again. But hey, it was free! And Holden loved it, so it was worth it. Here he was, using it for the first time.
I made this layout using some scrapbooking goodies I got from a friend when she got rid of a bunch of her supplies. It was some miscellaneous paper and a sheet of Dinosaur themed stickers from Karen Foster Design. I also used some vellum paper for the computer journaling, and I cut the title letters with my Craft Robo.

Heritage Center - June 2008

I took the kids on a field trip to the Heritage Center at the local Farmer's Market. They got to learn how to milk a cow (using a full-sized wooden cow with rubber udders filled with milk), how to churn the milk into butter, how to pump water manually, how to wash clothes with a washboard and ringer, and how to grow soybeans. They had a lot of fun and learned a lot about how things were done in days gone by.

I made this layout using the "Play Time" theme from the June 2008 Storytellers Club Ultimate Kit and an American Crafts Slick Writer marker.

My Favorite Thing - May 2008

Holden was just learning about how to sit up in these photos, and we used to prop him up against the recliner and slide this Vtech toy in front of him. It was perfect because it surrounded him on all sides, allowing him to sit up and play, and he just loved it! It's the one toy that was Hayden's that I kept and used with all of the kids. It was a sad day recently when I finally sold it because it was associated with so many fond memories of the kids at this age.

I made this layout using the "My Favorite Things" theme from the March 2008 Storytellers Club Ultimate Kit and an American Crafts Slick Writer marker.
