Hayride - May 2008

I took the kids on a field trip to Brookdale Farm in Pungo to pick strawberries and go on a fun, fast, and bumpy hayride with Farmer Tom. It was so wild that after Holden and his little friend Kayleigh nursed during the ride, we moms joked that the babies had gotten milkshakes for lunch! LOL.

I did this layout for a contest called "ad inspiration" at Storytellers Club. The part I loved about the ad was the focal photo with uneven rows of smaller accent photos underneath, so that was the design element I used here. The patterned paper is called "Animals" by Karen Foster Design. I used some miscellaneous hay patterned paper that a friend gave me for the title letters, which I cut with my Craft Robo. I cut the black outline for the letters with my Craft Robo, also. I printed the strawberries from Google Images. I used a Fiskars Shape Cutter and rounded square template to trim the photos.

First Cereal - May 2008

Holden got his first taste of baby cereal here, and as you can see by his great bib smile, he was definitely a fan! He always was a good little eater. :)

I used a Colorbok Dimensional Layout page from the "bubblegum" theme pack. The layers of paper were pre-stitched together with the ric rac on there, as well. The foam title letters came from Joann Fabrics & Crafts in the kids section. The baby themed fabric embellishments are Jolee's. The "YUM" lettering is fabric Thickers by American Crafts. I used a blue Galaxy Marker by American Crafts. The blue striped baby ribbon was just in my stash. The metal ribbon craft clips are by Karen Foster Design.

Park Fun - May 2008

Haylee went to the park with her dad by one of his job sites that day. She was 3, almost 4 then. Look at those chubby cheeks! It's amazing how much she has thinned out and shot up since then.

I used the "Blue Boutique" theme from the February 2008 Storytellers Club Ultimate Kit for this layout. I added some epoxy alphabet stickers for the title from the dollar spot at Target. I stamped the flourishes with an acrylic stamp by Autumn Leaves and chocolate brown dye ink from Ink It Up. I did the journaling with a brown Slick Writer marker from American Crafts.

Spirit of Norfolk - March 2008

I took the kids on a science field trip on the Spirit of Norfolk. A scientist from Nauticus did a presentation called "Grand Electro" about electricity. Hayden got selected to help with the demonstration, so he was thrilled. You can see from his expression, though, that he didn't know quite what to expect when touching that ball! The kids made a new friend, too, and they played on the dock for hours after the cruise. It was a fun day!

I used some miscellaneous paper I had which had life preservers printed all over it. I thought that was fitting, so I looked on Google and found additional images of life preservers to match and used them as accents on the second page. I used punch-out letters for the title that I bought at ACMoore ages ago and chalked the edges in Pebbles blue pastel chalk to subdue the red lettering a bit. I did all the journaling on the computer.

Feeling Carefree - April 2008

The kids had gotten new scooters for Christmas, so they took them out for a spin on this fine spring day!
I used the "Feeling Carefree" theme from the April 2010 Storytellers Club Ultimate Kit for this layout.

First Smile - March 2008

I accidentally scrapped the same photos twice, but I thought it was interesting to see the different approach I used in scrapping them both times, so I decided to keep them both!

I had fun finding clipart images on Google to match the animals on the Boppy pillow in the photos. I thought it added a nice touch of coordination! Unfortunately, after all my hard work of cutting them out by hand, I accidentally dropped an ink pad on the right side of the layout when I was putting my supplies away, thus the blue smudges. Darn! I used lots of rub-on sentiments and Prima flowers, too.

Moments with Mom & Dad - March 2008

I had some miscellaneous photos of Holden at about 3 months of age with me and with Steve, so I put them together for one layout. I love the pictures of Steve swiping a baby kiss! Adorable.

I used the "Family" theme from the April 2010 Storytellers Club Ultimate Kit. I like how the flowers on the paper naturally lent themselves to using little pictures as flower centers. I cut the letters from Bazzill cardstock with a lettering template and a Fiskars Shape Cutter.

Silly Faces - March 2008

I love these cute faces! Holden was about 3 months old here.

I used the "Whimsey" theme from the February 2010 Storytellers Club Ultimate Kit for this layout. I just love the paper...the colors blended perfectly with the outfit Holden was wearing. I added a vellum quote by Colorbok, and I trimmed one of the diecuts so the birdie's legs would dangle.
